Many professionals don’t discuss politics in the workplace. These are indications, for the most part of the sound judgment and awareness of the unethical nature of such discussions, if they happen to turn into heated arguments, disrupting the harmony and sanctity of the workspace. 

For those few individuals who do discuss politics, they do it in the right and healthy way, agreeing to disagree, but not taking it to an extreme limit where it corrodes work relationships. Also, employees are fully cognizant of the fact that eventually pursuing own opinions against someone with differing viewpoints for too long can land them in a soup with the HR and management, which carries the risk of blotting their portfolio.
